 The
Society was established in April 2002 during foundation
congress which was one of events during 4th
Meteorite Picnic Guciów 2002. The Society aims to popularize
knowledge about meteorites and astronomy, and integrate
circles of collectors, amateurs and researchers of meteorites.

This
objective is realized by: |

mutual assistance and exchange of information regarding meteorites,
|
|
organizing
trips to national and international exchange markets of minerals and
meteorites, |
|
organizing meetings of collectors and amateurs of meteorites,
|
|
organizing symposia and scientific conferences,
|
|
organizing displays and lectures related to meteorites,
|
|
organizing meteorite exhibitions,
|
|
supporting all initiatives connected with subject activity of the
Society,
|
|
publishing works and materials related to meteorites,
|
|
contact with mass media,
|
|
setting up scholarships and rewards for young meteorite hunters and
researchers.
